Gaultheria 'Winter Berry'
Name: Gaultheria procumbens
AKA: Eastern TeaBerry, Checkerberry
Why we love it: This festive plant is an evergreen bush with glossy green foliage and bears little red berries! Not only does it look the part for the holidays, it also produces a warm minty scent.
Temperature: Since this plant is an evergreen, it is best to replicate outdoor conditions as much as possible. This plant does not enjoy warmth, so it's best to keep them away from heat sources and place them in places that could potentially catch a draft - by doors and windows.
Light: Bright indirect light, direct light in summer months.
Water: Keep soil evenly moist, do not fertilizer.
Pet Friendly? Though the berries are edible, they're known to cause upset stomachs. It is best to keep this plant away from your furry friends.
Plants are sold in their nursery pots. Ceramic pots and baskets are sold separately.
