Name: Opuntia aurea 'Golden Carpet' 

AKA: GOlden Carpet Beavertail

Why we love it:  This hardy yet exotic-looking cactus has a spineless paddle and produces vivid yellow flowers. These plants are hardy to Zone 5 and can reach about 3 feet across once mature. 

Light: This plant prefers full sun.

Water: Allow the plant to dry between watering. Do not overwater. 

Pet Friendly? Opuntia are non-toxic but spines can be painful.
