Diatomaceous Earth is a sedementary rock derived from the fossilized remains remaines of marine phytoplankton and is a powerful and non-toxic pest treatment. The powder will draw out moisture and cause fatal dehydration for insects and is especially effective in treating fungus gnats which lay eggs in the surface of damp houseplant soil.

To use, sprinkle a layer of diatomaceous earth on the dry exposed surface soil of your houseplants.  Bottom water while treating with diatomaceous earth to maximize its benefits. If you are struggling with fungus gnats, we recommend combining this treatment with sticky traps to get rid of adult flying populations as well.

Safety: This product is non-toxic but the fine powder can be an irritant. We recommend using a mask when working with the powder to avoid inhalation.
